Oscar De La Hoya is the president of Golden Boy Promotions. Richard Schaefer is the CEO of this company. These persons suspected the boxer Manny Pacquiao in administration of steroids. Since this accusation could disturb Many Pacuiao’s career, he filed a defamation lawsuit against the president and the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, the boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his father.
But then Manny Pacquiao and Bob Arum, the Cief Executive Officer of Top Rank, achieved an agreement with the company Golden Boy Promotions. Thus, Manny Pacquiao dropped lawsuit against the president and CEO of the promotional company Golden Boy Promotions. But the defamation lawsuit against the boxer Floyd Mayweather and his father remained valid.
The Chief Executive Officer and the president of Golden Boy Promotions claimed that they denied their prior confirmations connected with accusation in steroid use by Manny Pacquiao. They proclaimed that there was no any reason to suspect this fighter in application of forbidden medicines. the CEO and the president of Golden Boy Promotions admitted that Manny Pacquiao was one of the best fighters of all times. At the end of agreement, the president of Golden Boy Promotions and the founder and the CEO of Top Rank shook their hands.
It is claimed that the apology will cause competitions between Top Rank boxers and Golden Boy boxers.
Since the suspicion was directed at Manny Pacquiao, the apology was directed at him too. He accepted it and dropped the defamation that was connected with Oscar De La Hoya and Richard Schaefer.
At the beginning the debate about possible administration of performance-enhancing medicines delayed the fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather. It happened because Mayweather insisted on tests for prohibited medicines by the WADA.
