The chairman noticed that some officials and firefighters were similar to Magilla Gorilla, the character of the 1960 cartoon “The Magilla Gorilla”. McCall claimed that such officials might affect own health and life or even kill other people.
It was the first time when consumers of anabolic steroids were compared with the cartoon character Magilla Gorilla. Some persons confirm that the comparison is quite ironical.
