Ryan Braun, a well-known baseball player, tested positive for anabolic steroids. This situation caused unusual debates. This well-known baseball player may be suspended. His analytical positives have led to very serious debates.
This player of the Major League Baseball had an essentially high T\E ratio in a urine sample. He was tested in October, 2011. According to several sources, his T\E ratio had the most induced indexes that had ever been displayed by T\E ratio tests. The T\E ratio displayed that his level was twice of the most enhanced level that was ever identified by T\E ratio tests.
This led to reports of some sportswriters. They wrote that Braun had had very induced level of testosterone. However the urinary test showed induced indexes, the information of sportswriters is misleading.
It is important to understand that the T\E ratio is only a ratio. It doesn’t represent serum level of testosterone in blood. It only testifies about testosterone of exogenous origin.
A laboratory in Montreal that was authorized by the WADA applied isotope ratio testing in order to confirm the T\E ratio test. This test doesn’t display absolute testosterone level too. It determines only the origin of testosterone. As for Braun, it was determined that testosterone of his blood had had exogenous origin. It means that it wasn’t made inside of his organism but it was created outside of his system. Thus, the tests determined that this American baseball player had used this hormone.
But a representative for the Braun camp pointed out that this American baseball player wasn’t guilty. He noted that this player hadn’t had any intentions to violate the laws of the WADA.
It is difficult to explain what happens in this situation. A spokesperson noted that unusual things are linked with this situation.
It was decided to test this person once again. He submitted. The second T\E ratio test showed absolutely opposite indexes. It showed normal levels. How could you explain these things? The first T\E ratio test showed extremely induced testosterone levels, the second one displayed normal levels. Can you imagine? There are a lot of explanations related to his positives.
What is going to say Braun for his defense? It is not clear. Everybody is waiting for his explanation. This case causes increased curiosity. Has Braun administrated testosterone?
