Jordan Matechuk, a player of the Canadian Football League, was busted by the US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP). He was caught possessing over 540 tablets of oral steroids and over 260 ml of injectable steroids, when he was driving to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats training camp. Jordan Matechuk affirmed that his depression was responsible for the decision to get and take anabolic steroids.
The football player noticed that he used anabolic steroids and marijuana in order to be able to get rid of his depression. He noted that earlier he had used anti-depressant products. Stopping applying anti-depressant drugs probably led to intake of steroids.
The football player noted that he experienced depression. He began to take steroids and marijuana in order to feel better. He admitted that he was responsible for this condition. He wouldn’t have discontinued taking anti-depressant medications. But he stopped using them. This factor led to steroid use.
Matechuk pleaded guilty to possession of steroids and marijuana.
Although he faced up to 2 years in jail, he was sentenced to 90 years in jail. But he was released after he served just 60 days.
Jordan Matechuk reported that there were some other conditions but he decided to keep them out of public knowledge.
The Canadian Football League gave him another chance to play football professionally.
He wrote a letter and sent it to every member of the team. He wrote about his shame for the arrest related to possession and usage of steroids. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats didn’t want to receive the consumer of steroids back to the team.
But the Winnipeg Blue Bombers decided to give him the second chance. So, Matechuk was happily accepted by this team.
