Large doping ring is busted in Norway

Norwegian police officers have busted a large doping ring. Over 10 persons that were involved in illegal operations were arrested. Six individuals went to prison.
According to reports of the newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv (DN), the doping ring was set in Trondheim. DN presented own investigation connected with illicit distribution of anabolic steroids in Norway. Police investigated the case.
It is suggested that a secret center is located in Trondheim. It administrates illegal distribution of doping medicines and money laundering.
The arrested persons were related to bodybuilding, fitness and health industries in Norway. Several persons were arrested at their homes; others – in business offices, parking lots and tram stops.
Police believe that several persons are masked by the names of Guru and Karma.
Robert Eilertsen is one of those who have been arrested. He is a manager and editor of a fitness blog. He coached well-known athletes within football, boxing, handball, etc.
It is suspected that Eilertsen and several other persons have provided dangerous doping products to Norwegian youth during some years.
Approximately 60 police officers were implicated in raids. The raids caused 11 arrests.
Since the investigation is not finished yet, police officers report nothing about their further actions.
Norwegian customs officers and tax authorities were also involved in the investigation.
Numerous computers and several documents were seized during raids of homes, business officers, cars, etc.
Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen, another arrested man, have denied their connections with doping medicines. Jacobsen is the owner of Kaliber Gym in Trondheim, one of the most famous gyms in Norway. Jacobsen was personal trainer of sportspeople that acquired prizes. He coached sportspersons that attended to different sports. Jacobsen is considered to be a high-profile nutrition expert.
The raid was called “Operation Gilde”.
Eilertsen and Jacobsen are charged with sale of doping drugs and money laundering.

Illegal drug ring is masked by legal business

Spain’s police officers arrested Scott Boote, a man, who was involved in illicit actions connected with an international drug ring manufacturing stimulants which increase libido. Large amounts of products were seized by police officers. The street value of the medications was estimated. It was affirmed that it was almost ?3 million. A citizen of the UK, a 72-year-old person from Liverpool, was also questioned. According to statements of police officers, these two men produced 8 new sexual stimulants and offered them for sale per internet without examining patients. Six other individuals were also questioned during this investigation. Investigators noted that the individuals who were implicated in this illicit drug ring purchased vehicles and another property due to distribution of illicit sex drugs. Several bank accounts were blocked by police. More than 100,000 dosages of anabolic steroids, properties and cars were seized.
A spokesperson for Spanish police claimed that all members of the drug ring lived very luxuriously. They possess numerous properties and luxury cars. They purchased properties abroad in order to hide the illicit business. Investigators defined that the ring sold sexual drugs for both males and females. The products were sold per internet. Persons from the whole world could purchase the preparations. Thus, people from the USA, the UK, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. were customers who obtained medications from this ring. Three factories functioned in Costa del Sol. Investigators suppose that those that were manufacturing the medications didn’t possess needed knowledge for this purpose. According to them, the individuals who were involved in the drug ring managed also legitimate business in order to hide the illegal one. They put efforts to give legitimate appearance to illegal actions. Other commercial companies masked the profits obtained from the illegal drug ring.
Police officers also found boxes that had to be sent to customers. Anabolic steroids were also found and seized by police officers. The arrested persons also possessed packages, labels and leaflets.

British drivers use steroid excuse successfully

Although it is not yet manifested scientifically whether “roid rage” is an adverse response of steroids, these medications are blamed for various criminal actions quite often.
Michael Barton, a man from Britain, hit a Ford Fiesta, while he was driving his Volkswagen Golf. Paul Gard was driving the Ford Fiesta. Barton had overtaken Paul Gard. But then he had to pull back in front of him, since another car was driving the other way. Paul Gard flashed him. So, he had to brake suddenly. Barton became angered, stopped his car, broke the wing mirror of Paul Gard’s Ford Fiesta and hit the man in the face. Then Gard’s wife took her mobile and informed police. While she was calling, Barton left calmly.
Michael Barton, a 21-year-old man that has a kid of two years old, applies steroids for bulking results. So, it has been claimed that these preparations affected his behavior. The defense attorney for this young person claimed that steroids influenced negatively on temperament of his client, since these drugs enhanced his testosterone levels.
Previously Michael Barton was convicted for certain crimes, including domestic violence. Last year this young man pleaded guilty to an assault, criminal damage and driving carelessly because of his anger following assaults.
The judge Patrick Hooton at Portsmouth Crown Court Deputy Circuit confirmed that he was not sure that steroids caused the improper behavior of Michael Barton. But he noticed that it was totally mad to become angry and hit a person in the face only because he flashed him. The judge noted that Barton’s behavior was too shameful and he announced: “you ought to go to prison”.
Thus, this young man was sentenced to 6-month jail sentence suspended for a year; he was also enforced to pay 500 dollars in compensation and ?277 for damage of the vehicle.

Effects of green tea on excretion of testosterone in urine

Sportspersons become more and more sophisticated in administration of steroids. They find new ways to hide their intake of banned medications. Some athletes take time to study scientists’ affirmations that can help them to hide that they dope. Nowadays a method has been found: sportspersons may mask administration of testosterone by drinking of green tea.
Testosterone is a hormone that is secreted in body naturally. Thus, it can be difficult for anti-doping agencies to determine that an athlete has taken testosterone. T: E ratio testing is usually used by anti-doping organizations. Such tests can demonstrate unusual ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone in urine. But it is not capable to manifest difference between testosterone that has been produced in body naturally and that introduced into body with the help of injections, creams, etc.
Declan Naughton and his colleagues at Kingston University ( London) have found that green tea has such compounds that are called “catechins”. They have capacity to inhibit the enzyme UGT2B17. This enzyme induces attaching glucuronic acid to testosterone. In case UGT2B17 is inhibited, less testosterone glucoronide is excreted in urine.
Catechins, the substances which can mask application of testosterone, are contained in green and white tea. Black tea doesn’t contain such compounds.
Naughton and his colleagues have conducted certain experiments. They claim that a cup of strong green tea hides intake of testosterone.
So, those sportspeople that take testosterone can lower quantities of testosterone that are excreted in urine by consumption of green or white tea. Green or white tea has capacity to block excretion of testosterone, enhancing circulating levels of this hormone.
The World Anti-Doping Agency was informed about the findings by the experts. If this process occurs, it is not worthy to test urine. Blood tests must be performed for detection of testosterone use.
Olivier Rabin, the WADA’s specialist, affirms that regular checks of blood steroids will be added. Everything will be done by anti-doping agencies in order to avoid fooling of urine tests.

Wim Vansevenant didn’t supply Omega Pharma-Lotto team with doping products

The case connected with Wim Vansevenant, a former Belgian rider, changed significantly. An analysis manifested that the doping medications that were ordered by him didn’t contain the contents written on the labels. This person was cheated by the company where he ordered the products.
Last year some packages sent to the former athlete by an Australian company were intercepted by customs officials. It was written on the intercepted bottles that they contained the doping drug TB-500. It is a peptide hormone that is able to induce enhancing muscle strength and speed healing. The Belgian authorities started an investigation. It was believed that Wim Vansevenant supplied the Omega Pharma-Lotto team with doping preparations. This person rode professionally 10 years, from 1998 to 2008. Last 6 years of his riding career he was with this team.
An analysis of the bottles seized by customs illustrated that just amino acids were presented. Wim Vansevenant’s lawyer noted that the charges had to be dropped. He pointed out that since the medicine was not connected with doping, the former sportsperson didn’t deserve to be punished.
The prosecutor’s spokesperson Johan Lescrauwaet claimed that the contents didn’t correspond to the name of the drug which was written on the label and to the statements of the former athlete.
Just amino acids were found in the bottles. No any doping product. So, there is no any evidence that Wim Vansevenant provided doping products to other persons.
The hearing of the former Belgian rider was scheduled to be later.

Bruce Goldberger in case against Roger Clemens: Anti-doping agencies violate athletes’ rights

Testimonies of the well-known toxicologist Bruce Goldberger will probably influence significantly on decision of the court in the case against Roger Clemens. Bruce Goldberger is the Professor of Pathology and Director of Toxicology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. This expert testified on behalf of Roger Clemens. However he was invited in order to replace Don Catlin, the director of the WADA UCLA Medicine, Goldberger’s testimonies differed from those which are ordinarily presented by anti-doping organizations. This toxicologist testified on behalf of the accused athlete.
Bruce Goldberger has gained his celebrity due to his appearing on various news programs. Even during such programs he doesn’t abstain from critical words. He criticized certain anti-doping organizations, including the WADA.
Bruce Goldberger criticized feds in the case related to Roger Clemens. They based on “beer can evidence” presented by McNamee to support that his client took steroids and HGH. Brian McNamee, the former personal coach of Roger Clemens, presented a beer can containing utilized needles and syringes that had traces of such steroids, as Sustanon, Primobolan Depot and Deca Durabolin and were mixed allegedly with blood of Roger Clemens.  The beer can was kept by McNamee over 6 years. The toxicologist noted that such basis was not reasonable.
Bruce Goldberger claimed that it was impossible to base on “beer can evidence”. He noted that no one could prove that Roger Clemens used steroids and HGH, basing on the beer can, because the theory of contamination could present.
Thus, Bruce Goldberger didn’t support the evidence used by the feds. Earlier he also expressed criticism connected with evidence applied by several anti-doping organizations.
Some years ago the toxicologist Bruce Goldberger testified on behalf of the American cyclist Floyd Landis, when this athlete appealed positives for steroids. A WADA-accredited lab located in France discovered traces of exogenous testosterone; T: E ratio and carbon isotope ratio tests were utilized by the lab. Bruce Goldberger expressed similar words and criticism during the appeal related to Floyd Landis.
Bruce Goldberger confirmed during an interview that the WADA utilized inadequate ways and violated rights of sportspeople in order to have the success in anti-doping programs.
Floyd Landis didn’t have success in his appeal and acknowledged that he had used steroids, EPO and several other related drugs.
No one knows which results will be reached by Roger Clemens. Will the government prove that he has lied before the Congress? Will he admit to administering forbidden products? Or will be the results contrary?

Rusty Hardin’s argument: there are no changes in physical appearance of Roger Clemens

Every baseball fan knows that Roger Clemens is accused in obstruction of justice. It is said that he has lied before Congress about application of steroids and HGH.
Rusty Hardin, the attorney that was hired by Roger Clemens to defend him, noted that Roger Clemens’ physical appearance didn’t change greatly before, during and after his working with the trainer Brian McNamee. The attorney claimed that this aspect was a proof that Roger Clemens hadn’t applied steroids and other related products.
Increase of muscle mass is ordinarily used by federal prosecutors as proof that a person administers steroids or/and other related products. But this tendency was not utilized during the governmental case against Roger Clemens. No one could affirm that Roger Clemens’ muscles manifested that he had taken steroids and HGH. It is one of differences between the cases against Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds.
When it comes to the governmental case against Barry Bonds, prosecutors called many persons in the trial that could testify that anabolic steroids caused substantial changes in physical appearance of this athlete. They considered that intake of steroids caused increase of muscle size, enhanced size of the head and testicular shrinkage in Barry Bonds.
Thus, the defense attorney Rusty Hardin presented four photos of Roger Clemens. The pictures manifested physical appearance of Roger Clemens, including the time when Clemens was working with the coach Brain McNamee. Hardin pointed out that the pictures manifested that there were no changes in physical appearance that could support that he utilized steroids and HGH.
The attorney Rusty Hardin claimed that the pictures displayed just the process of ageing. The masseur Cheryl Redfern noticed that she didn’t observe any changes in physical appearance of Roger Clemens. Roger Clemens experienced neither back acne, nor gynecomastia, nor dramatically enhanced muscles.
Phil Garner, a former baseball player, also confirmed that there were not any essential changes in physical appearance and performance of Roger Clemens during working with the coach Brian McNamee.
Steve Durham, the Assistant US Attorney put efforts to discredit the argument about lack of changes in Roger Clemens’ physical appearance during the cross-examination of Phil Garner. He noted that while several steroids enhanced muscle mass, others didn’t induce increasing muscles. So, he affirmed that the photos could display nothing about steroid use.
Feds desire to take advantages in both cases: in the case against Roger Clemens and in that against Barry Bonds. While they claim that physical changes in Barry Bonds display that he has taken steroids, lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens doesn’t prove that he hasn’t used steroids.

Norwegian mass murderer used steroids

Anders Behring Breivik was accused in murder of  70 persons. He bombed buildings of government in Oslo (Norway). Certain teenagers of the Workers’ Youth League camp were also murdered by him on Utoya island in July 2011.
This person prepared for the massacre significantly. He said that he had applied cycles with steroids.  Since he consumed steroids, these products were blamed for the crimes by numerous reporters.
But what did experts claim? Joerge Moerland, a professor of forensic toxicology at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, contested affirmations of these journalists. The toxicologist Joerge Moerland affirmed that anabolic steroids were not responsible for the crimes committed by this person. But the specialist noted that he couldn’t contest that these medications could lead to aggressiveness in the killer.
An ECA, a combination of caffeine, aspirin and ephedrine, was also utilized by the killer. In fact, this stack is commonly utilized by bodybuilders in order to lose fat and stimulate themselves for workouts. It was set that the murderer has utilized great quantity of the stack. The quantity administered by him was by 50 % greater than it is permitted under European Union’s rules.
The specialist Moerland confirmed that the murderer’s behavior was more significantly affected by the ECA than steroids. He pointed out that ephedrine might cause desire to be implicated in dangerous activities. Joerge Moerland confirmed that Breivik’s central nervous system had been affected by ephedrine.
Nevertheless, the specialist Moerland noted about limitation of the ECA’ influence. The quantity of caffeine consumed by the murderer was equal to circa 5 cups of coffee. So, the quantity was not enough great in order to be blamed for the crimes.
The murderer described his application of steroids and dietary supplements in details. He also recommended other individuals purchasing steroids at Alinshop.
Breivik noted that he didn’t like Dianabol because it was able to lead to bloating. He noted that Dianabol could add more body mass than consumers could carry. According to his affirmations, approximately 50 % of the mass acquired because of this product is fluid retention. The killer chose some stacks that were suitable for his needs.
Anders Breivik studied effects of various steroids in order to choose those who were suitable for his purposes. He affirmed that Testosterone Propionate had certain superiorities over Dianabol. He also suggested that combinations of Dianabol with Aromasin or application of Dianabol followed by application of Winstrol could benefit substantially.
So, the killer prepared for the massacre scrupulously. He spent time in order to study effects of steroids and plan steroid cycles and usage of dietary supplements. He also pondered about every aspect connected with attacks and murders.
However some persons claimed that Anders Breivik was legally insane, it’s wrong. It is evident that the crimes have been committed consciously.

Implication of motorcycle gangs in distribution of steroids

According to the newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald”, outlaw motorcycle gangs are responsible for spread of illegal steroid use in Australia. The gangs get essential profit and low risks.
The detective Nick Bingham has noted that New South Wales Police doesn’t focus on investigation linked with intake of steroids but anabolic steroids become targets of investigations, when outlaw motorcycle gangs are arrested for violation of other laws.
According to the detective Nick Bingham, although New South Wales police officers don’t raid houses of gangs for steroids, they find them, when searches for weapons and stimulants are conducted.
The detective Nick Bingham has noted that they usually seize such quantities of steroids from motorcycle gangs that are just for personal intake. Quantities of other medicines which are usually found in possession of gangs are much greater than those of steroids.
The detective Nick Bingham has noticed that criminals prefer applying anabolic steroids in order to have threatening muscular bodies. They desire to look big and powerful.
However the detective Nick Bingham assures that gangs possess steroids only for personal use, the newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” presents opposite point of view. It is reported that motorcycle gangs play great role in smuggling of steroids.
Although gyms are considered to be the most important sources of steroids for bodybuilders, it is reported by “The Sydney Morning Herald” that several gyms have direct links with motorcycle gangs. The Herald confirms that many seizures made by the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service are linked directly with distribution of steroids by motorcycle gangs.
According to statements of Australian Customs, mail seizures of steroids have been enhanced obviously in comparison with past years.
More than 2, 000 seizures were made in 2009-2010 and over 5, 000 seizures of steroids were recorded in 2010-2011.
The most of seizures were connected with self-administration of steroids imported illegally by bodybuilders.

David Segui discussed with Brian McNamee about steroid use by Roger Clemens

Federal prosecutors want the judge Reggie Walton to permit the Cuban-American former Major League Baseball first baseman David Segui to testify in the trial connected with the case of Roger Clemens. This player had a conversation with Brian McNamee, the former coach of Roger Clemens. It is stated that they have spoken about usage of steroids by the former celebrated baseball player.
McNamee was chosen to testify against Roger Clemens because he turned out to be the only person who had direct knowledge about administration of steroids and other related drugs by Clemens. Moreover, he kept injection equipment: vials, syringes and needles that were allegedly mixed with the blood of Roger Clemens. DNA analysis was made in order to determine whether the blood belonged really to Clemens.
Rusty Hardin, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, said that the steroid evidence was made by Brian McNamee after the interrogation by federal prosecutors.
But prosecutors noted that David Segui told them that Brian McNamee said that he saved some things as evidence of steroid use by several players in 2001. It was several years before the former trainer of Roger Clemens became the target of the investigation.
Information presented by David Segui to federal prosecutors differed completely from that presented to Jim Baumbach, a sportswriter. His statements provided to the sportswriter were published in an article in 2008. According to that article, Segui confirmed that he had never spoken about steroids with his friend Brian McNamee.
Segui learnt about implication of Brian McNamee into the case of Roger Clemens just in 2006, when he read an article in the Los Angeles Times.
Segui said openly about personal intake of steroids and other related preparations. He said that Major League Baseball players asked him numerous times whether he had administered steroids. The former Major League Baseball first baseman acknowledged that he had used them. But David Segui noticed that he had never discussed about application of steroids with Brian McNamee.
Segui supported McNamee’s decision to save evidence about intake of forbidden preparations by his clients. According to David Segui, it is a right decision because sometimes innocent persons are blamed but guilty guys are covered. So, Brian McNamee could help to reveal the truth.
Although the judge Walton was asked to permit David Segui to testify in the trial related to Roger Clemens, it is unclear yet whether the judge will allow it.

Fight between Victor Ortiz and Andre Berto was canceled

The Haitian-American professional boxer Andre Berto tested positive for the steroid Nandrolone. The drug testing was conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA).
Andre Berto had to meet Victor Ortiz on June 23, 2012 in Los Angeles. This boxer agreed to submit to random drug testing before the fight. Both “A” and “B” urine samples indicated about application of the anabolic steroid Nandrolone.
It was already the second time this month, when the VADA tested boxers and caught them utilizing steroids. The first of them was the boxer Lamont Peterson. He had to fight against Amir Khan. It is quite ironically that Peterson requested random blood and urine testing. A carbon isotope ratio test conducted by the VADA showed that exogenous testosterone was in this boxer’s system some weeks before the fight.
The tests conducted by the VADA influenced greatly on financial position of several companies. For example, Golden Boy Promotions lost significant potential profit due to Lamont Peterson’s positives. It was determined by Richard Schaeffer, the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, that the company lost 250, 000 dollars.
The cancelation of the fight between Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz will probably not influence greatly on financial position of certain promotional companies because another boxer will possibly replace Andre Berto and will meet Ortiz.
The boxer Andre Berto didn’t provide any explanation for his positives. This fighter hired the attorney Howard Jacobs that would represent and defeat him.
Berto confirmed that he had never taken steroids. So, he claimed that he investigated with his attorney what could cause positives for steroids. Berto concluded that he had never cheated; he achieved success in sport because of hard work and dedication.
The attorney Howard Jacobs defeated many other athletes that turned out to be victims of contaminated dietary supplements.
It is confirmed that since the steroid Nandrolone has very long half life and it is detected easily, it isn’t very popular among those who dope. But it has been determined numerous times that some food supplements contained the ingredient nandrolone which caused positives for steroids. But since sometimes not each substance is written on the label, sportspersons become victims of contaminated sport supplements.

Nevada Athletic Commission seems to be ignorant about role of steroids for increase of performance during trainings

Chael Sonnen, an American fighter, is allowed to take anabolic steroids. The doctor Timothy Trainor noticed that this sportsman really suffered from hypogonadism.
What does this disorder represent? Hypogonadism is related to insufficient secretion of testosterone. Doctors ordinarily recommend testosterone replacement therapy in order to treat this disease.
Chael Sonnen has gotten a therapeutic use exemption (TUE). Thus, this athlete is allowed to administer steroids for clinical needs and fight against Anderson Silva at UFC 148 in July 2012.
According to indications given by Chael Sonnen’s health care provider, he has to apply injections of Testosterone Enanthate and Testosterone Cypionate twice a week. The quantities which are prescribed have not been revealed. But under rules of the Nevada Athletic Commission, blood serum levels of testosterone in this mixed martial artist should remain within normal range on the morning after the match with Silva.
The doctor Trainor confirms that those who fight, having TUE, must be tested on the morning after the match to determine whether they have taken something right before the competition.
Trainor thinks that testosterone is able to produce performance-enhancing effects, if it is utilized right before the fight. He claims that injections must not be introduced in the days before a match to prevent elevated testosterone levels.
But it seems that the NAC doesn’t know that steroids cause effects connected with enhancement of performance, not only if they are used right before competitions. Usage of steroids influences greatly on performance during trainings before competitions. And the effects remain even after sportspeople discontinue using them.
Sonnen had high testosterone levels at UFC 117. He argued that he had tested positive because he had been on TRT.  He appealed his suspension and it was reduced to 6 months from one year. But Chael Sonnen didn’t have any TUE that time.

Galabin Boevski went to prison due to illicit drug trade

Galabin Boevski, a Bulgarian weightlifter, World Champion and Olympic Champion, was sentenced to nine months in jail because of illicit international drug trade. This athlete was arrested in October 2011 at the Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil after he tried to board the plane with eight kg of cocaine. This weightlifter was led to Bulgaria. Cocaine was estimated. It could be sold at the price of 500, 000 dollars on the streets in countries of Europe.
Galabin Boevski is a well-known sportsman in Bulgaria. He is claimed to be one of the most celebrated weightlifters in this country.
First he was caught administering steroids in 1995. Undoubtedly, he was sentenced to suspension.
Then this sportsman was caught taking prohibited products in 2004. It was the second time when he violated doping rules. Actually, Boevski didn’t test positive for any forbidden medications. But anti-doping officials defined that he didn’t provide own urine. The urine which was provided by this sportsman belonged to another individual. As a result, Galabin Boevski was sentenced to 8-year suspension. During serving the suspension he was caught smuggling cocaine.
Boevski became famous due to his achievements in weightlifting. This sportsman won gold medals at several competitions: at the 1999 World Weightlifting Championships in Athens, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2001 World Weightlifting Championships in Antalya.
At the 2003 World Championships in Vancouver Galabin Boevski and his teammates from Bulgaria provided urine samples that belonged to another person. It was defined by anti-doping officials that the 3 urine samples belonged to one individual. These sportsmen were sentenced to suspensions. Boevski appealed the suspension but it was not successful.
Galabin Boevski broke several world records at various competitions. He held 3 world records. The best lifts of this sportsman were following: a 162, 5 kg snatch, 196, 5 kg clean and jerk and a 357, 5 kg of two lifts at the 1999 Championships.
It is strange but this sportsman’s reputation was not spoiled in Bulgaria. He applied his status of celebrity in sports in order to establish a Technogym fitness center in Sofia. The center was named Atama Wellness and Spa.
Furthermore, the Brazilian judge Maria Isabel do Prado confirmed that Galabin Boevski applied also his status of celebrity in sports in order to traffic the narcotic cocaine. She also noted that this weightlifter utilized the participation of his daughter in a Brazilian tennis tournament to cover his illegal operations related to smuggling of the narcotic.
The weightlifter Galabin Boevski claimed that he would appeal the conviction.

Andy Pettitte claimed that he was not sure whether Roger Clemens had told him about usage of prohibited drugs

The desire of the federal government linked with the case of Roger Clemens was following: they hoped to prove that this person had lied before the Congress about application of anabolic steroids and HGH. But the government was not able to achieve this goal. It was expected that Andy Pettitte would confirm that Roger Clemens had told him that he had taken the banned medications during a conversation in 1999 or in 2000. But Pettitte shocked the prosecutors. This man claimed that he couldn’t confirm that Roger Clemens had used steroids and HGH because he was not sure.
In fact, were the prosecutors of Roger Clemens disappointed by the testimony of Andy Pettitte? This person swore for the 2008 Congressional hearings on usage of steroids in the Major League Baseball that Roger Clemens admitted to usage of HGH. But he pronounced opposite statements at the Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in Washington.
Michael Attanasio, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, asked Andy Pettitte whether he may say that he is 50-50 that he has understood wrongly Roger Clemens about HGH. Andy Pettitte answered that he is indeed 50-50 about this aspect.
When the prosecutors heard the answer of Andy Pettitte, they didn’t know what to do. They stated that Andy Pettitte never said this way, when he was asked certain times.
The U. S. District Court Judge Reggie Walton claimed that he understood that Andy Pettitte’s answer has been conflicted. Actually, his statement was following: “I don’t know”.
The attorneys for Roger Clemens utilized the moment of the prosecutors’ confusion. They asked the judge to brush aside Andy Pettitte’s testimony because he was 50-50. The attorneys claimed that he probably misunderstood Roger Clemens or he forgot the details of the conversation.
The government has noted that the jury still allows taking in consideration the testimony of Andy Pettitte. ASUSA Dunham has claimed that under federal rules jury is allowed to choose which affirmation to believe. This person hopes that the jury will disregard the testimony which doesn’t support the government.
Thus, the testimony provided by Andy Pettitte and his wife caused problems. Testimonies of Andy’s wife during the first trial resulted in the declaration of a mistrial by the judge Walton.
Pettitte affirms that he is a friend of Roger Clemens. Clemens must also claim that they are friends after the last testimony of Andy Pettitte.

Role of steroids in shooting police officers during drug investigation

Law enforcement officers came to Cullen Mutrie for a drug investigation. This ma shot five police officers at his home. As a result, the Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney was killed; other four police officers were wounded. The next morning this cop-killer and a woman were found dead.
It is suspected that this person was utilizing steroids at the time of the shootout. Jane Young, the New Hampshire Associate Attorney General, noticed that toxicology reports were waiting in order to find out whether metabolites of steroids were in the body of this man.
Police confirmed that Cullen Mutrie had had a very muscular physique. He worked at Genetix Fitness in Seabrook. It was reported that he was 6 feet 3 inches tall. Cullen Mutrie weighed 275 pounds. During a raid which took place in July 2010 law enforcement officials found anabolic steroids at his home. The police officer Wayne Young saw them in a coffee table. He said that he had noticed a plastic bag with some vials. A vial was with powder; others contained solution. The labels indicated that they were steroids.
The New Hampshire State Crime Lab analyzed the vials. It was determined that the vials contained such medications, as Trenbolone Acetate, Sustanon 250, Boldenone Undecylenate and Nandrolone Decanoate.
John Miller, a professor of kinesiology, was asked whether a connection between the deadly actions and “roid rage” of anabolic steroids could present. The professor confirmed that it was plausible. But according to him, it is impossible to conclude that there was a direct link between administration of anabolic steroids and the shootout.
John Miller supposed that steroids that were on the black market were provided from legitimate pharmaceutical companies. But he has been mistaken because the majority of steroids that are sold on the black market are produced in underground labs. It is even suggested that Mutrie produced steroids.
Since a connection between criminal actions and steroid use is a controversial question, not only policemen but also media investigates the case linked with Cullen Mutrie.

Alistar Overeem’s treating doctor is questionable person

Alistar Overeem, a mixed martial artist, appealed his suspension that was received by him for intake of anabolic steroids in April 2012. But he couldn’t win his appeal against members of NSAC. This fighter lost his license for nine months. Then this fighter will be allowed to come back.
Alistar Overeem admitted that he had utilized injectable testosterone that was recommended him by his physician. Overeem utilized the strategy that was considered to be boring. He claimed that he had never administered anabolic steroids or other related medicines knowingly. Alistar Overeem tried to make the NSAC think that his injectable usage of steroids was accidental.
David Chenoff, the defense attorney for Alistar Overeem, is experienced in representing famous athletes.
David Chesnoff called the personal physician of his client to testify during the hearing. It was believed that Dr. Molina would testify in defense for his patient. Testimonies of this doctor were quite poor. The doctor Molina presented an explanation for recommendations of several products which resulted in Overeem’s enhanced testosterone: epitestosterone ratio.
The treating physician of Alistar Overeem acknowledged that he indicated and injected this fighter with a mixture of Toradol and Dexamethasone because he had an injury. In fact, these preparations are administered for anti-inflammatory purposes. But intake of testosterone for recovery from injuries is not approved by the FDA.
It is supposed that the physician Molina hasn’t informed Alistar Overeem that these products contain the anabolic steroid testosterone. But it is evidentially that he has never asked about it.
So, testimonies of the health care provider Molina turned out to manifest lack of the evidence linked with medical needs for administration of banned drugs by Alistar Overeem. The health care provider couldn’t present any reasonable explanation that could justify prescribing of Toradol and Dexamethasone to this man. Testimonies of the health care provider Molina worked against Alistar Overeem.
Actually, it became evident that Overeem was a victim of the health care provider’s quack.
But it is possible to suppose that this strategy was designed by the defense attorney for this mixed martial artist.
Pat Lundval, a commissioner, was probably impressed by the defense of Overeem. She even called him a “smart guy”.
The members of the NSAC seemed to believe that Overeem has been actually a great guy but he has surrounded himself with such questionable persons, as the physician Moline. They recommended him to find more qualified professionals in the future.
